Peachtree City Parade

So, now that we live in a "small town" there was a parade for July 4th! It was quite exciting because we had no idea where it was exactly, we kind of just guessed and followed the people and got a great spot to see everything! Here David and Drew are waiting for the parade to start!

A great picture of Drew on top of David's shoulders waving to the fire men and women. Notice he is holding a chick-fil-a fan in his hand which he loved. They came by with a float and the chick-fil-a cow dressed up and handing out fans. Chick-fil-a actually started in Georgia so there are so many wherever you go! The weather was actually very nice and you didn't really even need the fans until we made the long walk back to the car.

Me and Drew in front of the Chinese dragons - the only multicultural float I think we saw all day. There were a lot of political people in floats, local businesses doing advertising as well as churches on their own floats as well. A lot of them played music, threw candy and other advertising items. The best was the very beginning of the parade where they had the war veterans of each war in a different golf cart and everyone was clapping and screaming for them. I actually got very emotional seeing these men and women and when I looked over, David had teared up as well. What a great honor to have men and women in our family (all four of our grandfathers and one of david's grandmothers) who have served this great country and people we know as well serving right now! What a wonderful country we live in and what a great blessing it is to enjoy our freedom!!!

Drew's favorite part of the parade was all the candy that was thrown his way. He loved chewing the gum, eating the tootsie rolls, popsicles and kept asking for more! We had a wonderful time!!! Next year, we hope to go in our own golf cart like everyone else!
