End of February 2017

An old friend, Hudson, visited our ward today and Drake couldn't have been happier. Best Sunday ever!
Drake and Dakota were playing ESPN announcers at Dilan's indoor soccer game with pretend microphones and creative commentary.
Dilan and Drake registered for swim team this summer and are looking forward to it! Drew is swimming competitively year round and made the bronze team in December and then moved up to the silver team three months later in March.

We celebrated some friend's February birthdays at wally-ball one night and David and Nate tried their skills at Just Dance and killed it. We were shocked at how well they did! They might not have looked graceful while doing it but they didn't miss many steps. Danae and I tried it next and within 10 seconds, we had failed it! How are these guys better dancers than us?? :)

Valentine's Day 2017

Dilan used different colors of electric tape to decorate hier v-day box and Drake saw a shark box on pinterest that I created for him. They both loved their boxes and decided to keep them for next year! ;) Drake couldn't give any food for his valentines so I bought bouncy balls to go along with his vday cards. He enjoyed giving those out. Dilan gave out Descendants cards with
This girl loved handing out her valentines to her classmates. Dakota gave out fruit snacks with her cards. And I got a dozen beautiful red roses from David. :)

Dilan turns 8

Dilan is 8 years old! She didn't get a friend birthday party (the only year we don't do it is when they turn 8 because we focus on their baptism and we party all weekend with the entire extended family). But Dilan did get gifts! She got over $200 in cash for her baptism and she received many gifts as well. MawMille gave her an amazon dot and PawDee gave her a purple bunjo chair she wanted for her room. Damon and Amy gave her a shopkins gift and Nannie gave her an activity tracker from Justice. Mimi gaver her a framed scripture (Moroni 10:5) for her wall and the soccer ball scripture holder, Aunt Amy gave her a pink elephant beenie boo, the Curtis family gave her the "three white dresses" framed picture, Aunt Lisa and Mrs. Wolverton (her second grade teacher) gave her journals, Aunt Wendy gave her a photo album, and her friend Addison gave her a target gift card and Anika gave her a pink wooden picture frame for her wall. Dilan was grateful to receive all the love and support on her baptism day.
After Dilan's baptism, a lot of us went to support her at her indoor soccer game that night. She played really well even taking some time playing in goal. PawDee and Uncle Damon were both very impressed with the level of soccer she is playing at. After the game, we went to Rudy's BBQ where PawDee and MawMille treated all of us to dinner. It was a very kind gesture and we ate so well! A definitely memorable day for Dilan.

Dilan's baptism

Dilan was baptized! She was excited and a bit overwhelmed by all the people there for her but she really enjoyed the day. We wore light pink in our dresses and the boys' ties. We had pink donuts for her favors and our neighbor, Liana, made her a white and pink CTR cake. She chose to wear a jumpsuit as opposted to a dress to get baptized in and then she changed into her beautiful white dress afterwards. Drew gave the talk on baptism and Mimi gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. David baptized and confirmed Dilan as well. Maddie braided Dilan's hair for her baptism and curled it for pictures. Dilan loves Maddie and at the end of the program went up to the front with her as she conducted the closing song. Lacey sang with all the cousins singing, "The Miracle." The reception back at the house had chick-fil-a chicken nuggets which were gone in an instant, pasta salad from Central Market, and beautiful pink hydrangas Keely got for me.
