Discovery Flight

David's birthday gift this year was a Discovery Flight at Monarch Air in Addison, TX. David has always loved airplanes since he was little which led him to the Air Force Academy right out of high school (along with playing football there). Once he was disqualified from flying planes because he is allergic to nuts, he left to serve his mission and moved on from his flying dreams. But he still wanted to get his private pilot's license someday. So, since we've settled down a bit here, I thought it was time to re-introduce him to his dreams.

The weather was so beautiful for his flight and all went well. The pilot let him fly for a good portion of the flight too. We've decided David can start scheduling his flight lessons once we get into a house after the beginning of the year. But it was fun to spend a Saturday morning at the airport seeing all the neat planes going out and coming in. Definitely a good way to celebrate his birthday!

Now it's Dilan's turn and she's pretty excited about it

Up in the air! David's favorite part was "that he didn't die." :)
