Dilan's preschool Hoedown

Dilan's preschool has a fall festival or a "hoedown" instead of a Halloween Parade. Not sure why schools don't let you dress up in costume here but maybe because they consider it a pagan holiday. However, considering we've lived in other parts of the south like GA where they were fine with it, who knows! But the kids had the option of dressing like a cowboy/girl or a farmer. The day before, I went searching for some boots for Dilan at consignments stores. After three tries, I hit the jackpot and bought these pink cowboy boots for $4.50. And then I bought her a brand-new cowgirl hat too. We had a new shirt with a star on it (reminding us of Texas) and we were all set. Cowgirl Dilan was all ready to go!
Dilan had her hoedown parade and at first, she was happy... then came the tears because she didn't want to wear her vest anymore.
After tears were shed and we removed the vest, Cowgirl Dilan brought back her smile and had a great day at school. :)
